Good things come in pairs. When it comes to breaking the cycle of current flat fundraising results, there is one particular pair that can help you unlock how you approach your strategy: Data and decisions.

In this session, RKD Group and The Jed Foundation will look at:

  • The ways you can use data to move from a channel-first to an audience-first mindset
  • Multiple examples of decisions that can be made based on the data you have

UNLOCKING BRAVERY IN TODAY’S YOUTH TO TAKE ON THE CHALLENGES OF TOMORROW

It started as an idea to uplift 300 children in Sierra Leone left without a school to go to and many orphaned in the wake of the Ebola crisis. Three simple words, Today, I’m Brave. An idea that living brave starts with today. An idea to inspire them to believe they can overcome any challenge.

What happened in turn was these children inspired the entire Today, I’m Brave team. Tenfold.

Realizing the impact this simple idea had on a community 7,000 miles away, set in motion a movement that eventually grew to become a global nonprofit. From helping to build 100 roofs in hurricane-stricken Puerto Rico for families in need to launching a speakers series featuring the bravest of stories to help raise funds for homeless youth, to its latest initiative Brave Camp New York, a 4-year, transformational camp program for under resourced kids from Harlem, Today, I’m Brave’s single mission is to unlock bravery in today’s youth so they can take on the challenges of tomorrow and become the next great leaders of their generation.

In this session, join Today, I’m Brave’s founder David Angelo as he shares what it takes to build a nonprofit from the ground up, with equal parts strategic insights, qualitative data and limitless passion, dedication and vision for a better, braver tomorrow.

THE DIGITAL TRUST EQUATION: NON-PROFITS, PSAS, AND PUBLIC PERCEPTION

PlowShare’s PSA TV airings data has a 20-year lookback spanning 50 cause categories. What can that data tell us about how trust is won today? Our presentation will show how we evaluate this data for themes and patterns that demonstrate the relationship between national events and cause messaging. Follow us as we tour through this data, showing you fascinating findings and a case study capturing Skin Cancer Foundation's recent campaign success. We will close with some go-forward ideas for how PSA and digital can work together to build public trust and community connection around crucial causes.
