For April's meeting - Spring has Sprung! And there’s a lot that’s new to talk about in the upcoming Legal Committee meeting. Best of all, Baker Hostetler’s AD-ttorneys@law, Jackie Rovine, Njeri Chasseau and Jack Ferry, have done some spring cleaning for you. They’ve sorted through all that’s happened on the federal and state consumer regulatory front, at the NAD, in the courts, and in California (i.e., CCPA) and will present what matters most on Thursday, April 18 at 2pm ET.
Njeri Chasseau, Associate, focuses her practice on a wide variety of matters in technology, media, advertising and marketing law. For a broad range of leading consumer product and services clients, she prepares terms of use and privacy policies and structures promotional programs, including sweepstakes and contests. Njeri is especially well-versed in emerging technologies, such as blockchain and cryptocurrencies, and has served as a panelist on the subject at industry-leading conferences.
Jack Ferry, Associate, brings hands-on experience to the firm's Advertising, Marketing and Digital Media team. He has represented clients before the National Advertising Division (NAD), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and state attorneys general, as well as in federal court, on a range of advertising-related matters, including claim substantiation, sweepstakes and promotions, and social media campaigns. Jack has also been seconded to clients as their day-to-day, in-house advertising lawyer.
Jackie Rovine, Associate, focuses her practice on commercial litigation, as well as counseling clients in regulated industries. Her experience as a law clerk in federal and state courts and in various enforcement agencies allows her to assist clients in navigating each stage of litigation and contact with the government. She spends much of her time counseling clients regarding compliance with applicable laws, including the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the various federal and state whistleblowing laws, and the state-by-state legalization and regulation of sports betting. Jackie also represents consumer goods and services companies in challenges to competitor advertising and marketing practices before the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, as well as in complex investigations and enforcement matters initiated by the Federal Trade Commission.
