III. MARKETING AND MEDIA CONSIDERATIONS FOR REACHING 1 IN 5 NEURODIVERSE (12:05PM – 12:50PM ET)
Approximately 70 million people in the U.S. (that’s one in five) have learning and thinking differences, such as ADHD and dyslexia. The pandemic, culture shifts, and new normals dramatically and abruptly exacerbated these differences and underscored that we live in a world which is not shaped to embrace difference. Understood.org is on a mission to remove the stigma and build a better tomorrow for those who learn and think differently, and help them to be understood so that every individual can thrive. 

Working with influencers, companies, and directly with people, Understood guides and empowers individuals along their lifelong journeys with learning and thinking differences. In this session, Chief Marketing Officer Nathan Friedman will talk about how Understood is setting standards in accessibility and usability; authentically leveraging social media to drive engagement; and what everyone - people and brands - can do to advocate, support, and empower those who learn and think differently.
