Welcome to the future of email marketing. In this inaugural meeting of the ANA Email Excellence Committee, we examine what email marketing will look like in a world of data privacy. We will also discuss what you would like to see from this new committee throughout the year. In a fireside chat, Chair Matthew Vernhout interviews ANA DC Leader, Chris Oswald, and D. Chris will speak from a legislative perspective while Reed will share what's happening on the business and technology side. Matt will serve as host and provide a practitioner's acumen. Consumer privacy is in sharp focus for both policymakers and companies alike. New data privacy laws introduced and passed at the federal and state levels, along with changes in company policies surrounding the use and exchange of data are impacting email as a viable marketing channel. This session will discuss how recent proposals and changes in public policy are affecting emailers, and it will explore how new receiver restrictions on deliverability reporting and metrics are challenging the effectiveness of marketers’ use of email to connect with consumers.
