For April’s meeting, attorneys from Davis+Gilbert will discuss recent federal and state updates regarding free trials, subscriptions and negative option programs; European privacy law updates; COVID-19 impacts on the production of commercials; and recent developments concerning arbitration clauses and class action waivers. Panelists will include Paavana Kumar, Zachary Klein, Samantha Rothaus and David Greenberg.
David Greenberg, Senior Attorney, leverages his litigation experience to help creative agencies and online media and entertainment companies avoid future litigation risk with well-crafted agreements and contracts. When faced with a claim, he seeks early resolutions driven by his clients’ business goals. If an early resolution is not possible, he draws on his significant trial experience to present powerful evidence and craft persuasive arguments that position clients for positive outcomes in court or arbitration.
Zachary Klein, Associate, data privacy is Zachary’s passion as he helps organizations prevent or address legal exposure stemming from data security incidents and breach response, vendor selection, technology issues, and allegations of false advertising, misrepresentation or unfair trade practices. Zachary previously served as a Deputy Attorney General with the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, where he conducted numerous internet privacy and data security investigations.
Paavana Kumar, Associate, assists major advertisers and retailers assess risk as they create compelling campaigns, run high-exposure promotions and streamline the online customer experience. She is a particular asset to clients seeking to leverage influencer talent, engage more creatively on social media, and reimagine their online e-commerce and subscription programs. Paavana’s ability to assess problems and provide quick, efficient risk assessments enables her to partner effectively with companies across industries, especially those pursuing a deeper e-tail focus.
Samantha Rothaus, Associate, provides counsel by balancing legal risk with business objectives. Drawing on prior intellectual property litigation experience, she helps clients launch collaborative projects, understand their contract rights, and negotiate talent and production agreements. Rothaus is involved at the earliest stages of each client’s project and uses a highly attentive and practical approach to avoid problems and craft solutions.
