COFFEE WITH SIMIOCLOUD: DEATH TO BUCKETS!

Bucket-based segmentation is a relic.  It typically only uses donor transactional data when more valuable data is at hand.  It makes a collective prediction for large groups of consumers, when the ability to make individual predictions is easy.  You need to build your segmentation from the individual up, not the segment down.  Moore's Chief Data Officer Doug Kaczmarek will outline the issues, illustrate the theory, and show you the path forward.

EXPANDING AUTHENTICALLY INTO DIVERSE AUDIENCES

In progressive philanthropy, we work with and for diverse constituencies, and it's critical to speak to these groups of supporters - not at them. By amplifying their voices and describing their experiences through a variety of authentic content types, you can create more inclusive, genuine connections to your mission.

In this session, you'll hear from GirlTrek and Anne Lewis Strategies about how they've implemented these imperatives enroute to quadrupling the organization's audience of Black women dedicated to self-care and daily walking in less than a year. From developing community-centered creative to sharing it with sophisticated targeting and innovative, collaborative user experiences, these experts will help illuminate the keys to executing strategies consistent with both an organization's values and those of its supporters.

UNMASKING THE IMPLICATIONS OF PANDEMIC FUNDRAISING CREATIVE

The Giving Sciences team has been researching the dynamics of the pandemic on giving. Along the way, an important question arose: now that masks are ubiquitous, should creative feature individuals in masks? How can charitable organizations navigate this politically-divisive topic authentically without potentially alienating large groups of supporters? This mini-session will cover the results based on an online survey during the fall of 1,200 U.S. human services donors.

USING THE POWER OF FOOD TO HEAL COMMUNITIES AND STRENGTHEN ECONOMIES: WORLD CENTRAL KITCHEN'S RESILIENCE PROGRAMS

After WCK has led a food relief activation and the emergency is over, we sometimes make long-term commitments of support in places where we feel we can successfully address chronic food system challenges with our unique blend of talents and resources. Through locally led approaches, our food resilience programs advance human and environmental health, offer access to professional culinary training, create jobs, and improve food security for the people we serve. This work began after the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti, with the belief that food can be a powerful agent of positive change in distressed communities. Our programs cover a range of areas, including clean cooking, food safety and sanitation, culinary education, and building resilient food systems.

ADAPTING YOUR CASE FOR SUPPORT & MAJOR GIFT VISITS

In this session, we'll discuss the art and science of the virtual visit. The art discusses the heightened importance of understanding (and fully leveraging) powerful questions to identify their case for support vs. sharing the case for support. The science portion discusses how to leverage technology such as relationship mapping, connections, and affinity to create a more thoughtful and strategic visit.

In a land of virtual visits, major gift officers have to become even more strategic (and creative) when it comes to forging meaningful relationships.

SPEED TO SECOND GIFT – THE METRIC THAT WILL MAKE YOUR RETENTION SOAR!

Did you know that donors who make a second gift within the first 90 days have a lifetime value that is 10x that of a donor who only makes a single gift to your org?

In this session, we're going to show you how to acquire and inspire these SUPERFANS -- loyal donors who will support your org for years to come.

This takes more than just a timely acknowledgement or attractive welcome series. In this session, we'll start by rethinking acquisition strategy and then use nuanced messaging (across channels!) to build a foundational relationship with donors who will become lifetime supporters of your organization.
