ANA and Others Ask for CCPA Enforcement Extension

March 18, 2020

ANA, along with more than 30 major California and national trade associations, have called on the California Attorney General to provide a brief delay in enforcement of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). This delay is essential due to the continuing substantial uncertainty in regard to the unfinished rulemaking on the CCPA and the unprecedented issues and disruption created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Companies are now facing an exceptionally wide range of highly complex and unexpected issues. This brief delay will allow the hundreds of thousands of companies affected by the CCPA the time to respond to this extraordinarily challenging period. ANA has previously called for this extension, but these concerns have, obviously, escalated dramatically.

The letter to the California Attorney General can be found here.
