"This mentorship program has been mutually rewarding for myself as well as my mentee. We have been able to share our experiences, discuss the value that we each bring to the industry, and how we can become more influential within our organization by focusing on both our strengths and weaknesses.

"I’ve not only been honored to participate in this process but have now been blessed to have a respected colleague and friend in our industry. The program may be over, but our connection will continue for a lifetime."

- Rachel Thomas, Enterprise Principal Advisor of Digital and Innovation, ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Mentorship Expectations

The ANA is dedicated to making our programs and communications a safe place for all. To ensure the value and integrity of the ANA Nonprofit Federation Mentorship Program, participants are expected to adhere to the following code of conduct:

  • Engage at the highest level of professionalism to help guide your partner through the landscape of complex decisions. Your mentorship relationship should be one that grows in value as you grow in knowledge and experience.
  • Honor the integrity of your partner by providing constructive feedback that empowers and encourages but does not overtly influence. Discourse is highly encouraged but, as professionals and leaders in the space, that discourse should always be respectful, including with those with whom you may disagree.
  • Identify and respect the uniqueness of your partner's interests and take them seriously while being alert for opportunities and teaching moments.
  • Harassment, intimidation, and inappropriate behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.

Anyone found in violation of this policy will be subject to immediate removal from the mentorship program.
